We’ve got some new rubber on the Major 4×4 Prado

We’ve finally bit the bullet and put some new tyres on the Major 4×4 Prado. It was long overdue, so the changes were welcomed very warmly here.

After a lot of debate, consideration and enquiries, we settled on the BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2’s. There were a few reasons behind that decision.

Firstly, the car is an every-day driver, so it needed something that behaved well on the road, but will also perform on the dirt. That meant that mud tyres were out. As much as we love them (and lets be serious, they look great), they are just too impractical for every-day use on the road.

Secondly, we looked at a wide range of brands and narrowed it down to a few that looked like they’d work for us. The BFG’s very narrowly beat out the Toyo and Hankook AT’s that were the other options, even though all of those would be a very good option for anyone out there.

So now we have a new lease on life for our little lady. We’re keen to get her into the dirt to see just how good our decision was, so if there’s anyone out there that wants to join us for a trek, drop us a line!
